Morphology

Symmetry and Form

Monad, radial_symmetry, isopolar, 3-(4-) colporate, spheroidal to elliptic in equatorial_view, circular in polar_view

Dimensions

Polar_Axis = 25-31 µm; Equatorial_Axis = 21-30 µm

Apertures

Three colpora; Colpus: narrowly elliptic, much shorter than Polar_Axis, colpus apex obtuse, distance between the adjacent colpal apices ±10-12 µm, margo undifferentiated, costae_colpi present; Os: lens shaped (Fig. 3), lateral ends acute, lalongate, oral_costae present

Exine

Psilate, tectate, infratectum columellate, exine thickness: at poles ±1.5 µm; at the mid-point of the intercolpium ±1.5 µm

Remark

Occurrence of semi-tectate to tectate and of psilate to mostly reticulate exine in Casearia has been reported by Keating, R.C. (1973)

Tentative Pollen Typification

Casearia type X
