Morphology

Symmetry and Form

Monad, radial_symmetry, isopolar, 3-colpate, elliptic ( E > P & E < P ) to spheroidal in equatorial_view, circular in polar_view

Dimensions

Polar_Axis = 59-71 µm; Equatorial_Axis = 45-67 µm

Apertures

Three colpi; Colpus: elliptic often with the remnants of ruptured sculptured apertural membrane, colpus apex acute, distance between the adjacent colpal apices 23-30 µm, margo undifferentiated, aperture_membrane sculptured (spinular excrescences) often gets ruptured in acetlysed grains, costae_colpi absent

Exine

Echinulate, spinules (±1.5x2.0 µm) scattered, inter-spinular exine psilate, tectate, infratectum columellate, exine thickness: at poles ±3.0 µm, at the mid-point of the intercolpium ± 3.0 µm; (excl. sculpture)

Remark

A stenopalynous genus
