Morphology

Symmetry and Form

Monad, radial_symmetry, isopolar, 3-(2, 4) colpate, elliptic ( E > P ) in equatorial_view, elliptic (2 colpate), circular or 3-4 lobed (3-4 colpate) in polar_view

Dimensions

Polar_Axis = 17-20 µm; Equatorial_Axis = 23-30 µm

Apertures

Three colpi, sometimes 2 colpi and seldom 4 colpi; Colpus: narrowly elliptic, much shorter than P axis (brevicolpus), colpus apex acute, distance between the adjacent colpal apices 12-15 µm, margo smooth surrounded by reticulum, aperture_membrane psilate, costae_colpi thin or absent

Exine

Medium_reticulate, tectate, mur ±1.0 µm; lumina 1.0-2.5 µm, intraluminal elements present, exine thickness at the mid-point of the intercolpium 1.0-1.5 µm

Remark

A stenopalynous genus
