Morphology
Symmetry and Form
Tetrahedral_tetrad-colporate (Fischer's Law), radial_symmetry, distal_poles with polar_areas; each component 3- demicolporate in position B the outline is triloboid.
Dimensions
Greater Diameter = 57-71 µm.
Apertures
Three-demicolporate (each component), two demicolpi or half colpi (six co-colpi), a pair of co-colpi narrowly elliptic to ellipsoidal, colpal apex conical to obtuse; distance between the adjacent colpal apices 24-31 µm costae_colpi separated from the extra-apertural nexine by circumcostal crevices; aperture_membrane apparently scabrate; Os narrowly elliptic to ellipsoidal, with acute lateral ends, lalongate, oral_costae thin(?).
Exine
Granular to granulo-rugulate, tectate, infratectum columellate; nexine with many endocracks, exine thickness ±2.5 µm, long (up to 150 µm), ropy or noodle-like threads or fibres or “ viscin_threads ” attached to various parts of the exinal surfaces of the distal hemispheres of tetrad components: para-apertural and intra-apertural regions, over the colpal membranes, polar_areas and along the equatorial junctions of contiguous grains.
Remark
A stenopalynous genus.
Tentative Pollen Typification
Rhododendron arboreum type.
