Description
The manuscript is composed of a text, attributed to Akattiyar, containing 164 verses inscribed on palm leaves numbered from 1 to 39. The manuscript is in excellent condition. The text, entitled Akattiyar - Nīr Mēka Nitāṉam, describes diseases related to urinary tract (nīr mēka nōykaḷ) in terms of symptoms and treatment. The names of diseases of this category mentioned are : taila piramiya nōy, pācāṇa piramiya nōy, cala piramiya nōy, mūttira piramiya nōy, cūttira piramiya nōy, mata piramiya nōy, naṭṭa piramiya nōy, cukkila piramiya nōy, ratta piramiya nōy, liṅka piramiya nōy, cilēṟpaṉa piramiya nōy, kiricana nōy, caṇṇi vāta kiriccaṇa nōy and cōrai kiriccaṇa nōy. The preparation of medicines notified for treating diseases related to urinary tract are : Kukkilāti uṇṭai, Kukkil kiṟutam, Kukkil iracayanam; kukkil is the Tamil term for sal gum (sal tree or Shorea robusta).

அகத்தியர் இயற்றிய ஒரு நூலை கொண்டது இந்த சுவடி,அதில் 164 விருத்தங்கள் 1 முதல் 39 வரை எண் கொண்ட சாலைகளின் மீது வடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.இந்த சுவடி மிகவும் நல்ல நிலையில் உள்ளது.அகத்தியர் - நீர் மேக நிதானம் என்ற தலைப்புடைய இந்த நூல், நீர் மேக நோய்களின் குறிகுணம் மற்றும் மருத்துவம் பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.இந்த நூலில் உள்ள 40 ஏடுகள் நீர் மேக நோயின் குறிகுணம் மற்றும் மருத்துவம் பற்றி கூறுகிறது இந்த சுவடியில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள பல்வேறு நீர் மேக நோயின் பெயர்கள் பின்வருமாறு தைல பிரமிய நோய், பாசான பிரமிய நோய், சல பிரமிய நோய், மூத்திரம் பிரமிய நோய், சூத்திரம் பிரமிய நோய், மத பிரமிய நோய்,நட்ட பிரமிய நோய், சுக்கில பிரமிய நோய், ரத்த பிரமிய நோய், லிங்க பிரமிய நோய், சிலேற்பனம் பிரமிய நோய், கிரிசனம் நோய், சன்னி வாதம் கிரிசனம் நோய், சோறை கிரிசனம் நோய் ஆகும்.இந்நோயை குணப்படுத்தும் மருந்துகள் குக்கிலாதி உண்டை, குக்கில் ரசாயனம், குக்கில் கிருதம் ஆகியவற்றை பற்றியும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 24,2cm x 2,7cm. The text, numbered from 1 to 39 in Tamil and Arab numbers, is complete. The manuscript is in excellent condition.
The manuscript contains 41 palm leaves, including a blanck leaf. It has no wooden boards. There are 12 lines per leaf.

The manuscript belonged to Mohana Raj's grandfather, Vēlāyutaṉ vaittiyar (1887/1965), a siddha practitioner who was president of the association ATSVS and taught when the college was founded by the association. He paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from siddha practitioners and collected some from his peers.
