Description
The manuscript is composed of a text, attributed to Akattiyar, containing 107 verses. It is in excellent condition but it is incomplete as the leaves are numbered from 445 to 462. The text, entitled Akattiyar - Cilēṟpaṉa nōykal- 96, describes the 96 diseases caused by imbalance of the humour cilēṟpaṉa and their symptoms. For information on the list of the mentioned diseases, the head of the programme may be consulted. NB The number 96 is extremely recurrent in Siddha medicine.

அகத்தியர் எழுதிய ஒரு நூலை கொண்ட இந்த சுவடியில் 107 விருத்தங்கள் உள்ளன.இது மிகவும் நல்ல நிலையில் உள்ளது ஆனால் இது முழுமையானது இல்லை ஏன் எனில் ஓலைகள் 445 முதல் 462 வரி உள்ளவை. அகத்தியர் - சிலேற்பன நோய்கள்- 96 என்ற தாலிபுடைய இந்த நூல், சிலேற்பன குற்ற மாறுபாட்டால் தோன்றும் 96 நோய்களின் குறிகுணம் பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.96 சிலேற்பன நோயின் குறிகுணங்கள் மற்றும் மருத்துவம் பற்றி விரிவாக கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 37cm x 3,5cm. The text, numbered from 445 to 462 in Tamil and Arab numbers, is complete. The manuscript is in excellent condition excepted the four last pages more and less broken.
The manuscript contains 18 palm leaves of 14 lines per leaf, covered by only a wooden board.

The manuscript belonged to Mohana Raj's grandfather, Vēlāyutaṉ vaittiyar (1887/1965), a siddha practitioner who was president of the association ATSVS and taught when the college was founded by the association. He paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from siddha practitioners and collected some from his peers.
