Description
This manuscript is composed of a text entitled Vaittiya Cūttiram- 206, written in verses by Vaciṣṭar. The text has palm leaves numbered from 1 to 69; it is complete and the manuscript is in excellent condition.
The text is a treatise of preparations of medicine and iatrochemistry processes. The formulas presented aim at treating a wide range of diseases : burning micturition and urinary obstruction, gastritis, dysentery, abdominal colic, scrotal swelling, enlargement of lymph nodes in groin region, nasal obstruction and nasal diseases including sinusitis, headache, bed sores, eczema, wound, exanthematous fever, tremors and poisonous bites of rat, scorpion and snakes.
The preparation of medicines mentioned in the text are : Tāḷicapatiri cūraṇam; Koṭuvēli tailam and Komparakku tailam; Taḻutāli eṇṇai; Kūḻapaṭai racayaṇam, kūḻpāṇṭa racayaṇam, and Paṭṭai racayaṇam; Kōtampu lēkiyam and Vilvāti lēkiyam; Tāmira centūram, Lavaṇa centūram and Ayakkānta centūram; Turucu paṟpam, Lavaṇa paṟpam, Veḷvaṅka paṟpam and Loka paṟpam; Vāta rāṭcatan māttirai; Viṣṇu cakkaṟa kuḷikai; a kuḻampu for purgation (pēti) and a ney for pregnancy. Purification of copper (tāmira cutti) and details of fuller’s earth (muppu viparam) are also exposed.
Additionally, the text lists eighty types of vāta diseases.

இந்த சுவடி வசிஷ்டர் செய்யுள் வடிவில் எழுதிய வைத்திய சூத்திரம் 206 என்னும் நூலாகும்.இதில் 1 முதல் 69 வரை எண்கள் கொண்ட ஓலைகள் உள்ளன.கடைசி ஓலையில் ஒன்றும் எழுதப்படவில்லை.இது நல்ல நிலையில் உள்ள ஒரு முழுமையான நூலாகும்
இந்நூல் பல நோய்கான மருந்து செய்முறைகளை பற்றியதாகும்.இதில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள நோய் நிலைகள் : கிரிசத்துக்கு மருந்து, நீரடைப்புக்கு மருந்து, கிராணிக்கு மருந்து, வயிற்று அழற்சிக்கு மருந்து, வயிற்று வலிக்கு மருந்து, ஆனந்த வாயுவிற்கு மருந்து, மேக நோய்க்கு மருந்து, அரையாப்பிற்கு மருந்து, படு காயத்திற்கு மருந்து, வாய்விற்கு மருந்து, பாரிச வாய்விற்கு மருந்து, பீனிசத்திற்கு மருந்து, நாசிகாபீடத்திற்கு மருந்து, குற நோய்க்கு மருந்து, கபால சூலைக்கு மருந்து, நயன நோய்க்கு மருந்து, விஷத்துக்கு மருந்து, எலி விஷத்துக்கு மருந்து, தேள் விஷத்துக்கு மருந்து ஆகும்
இதில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள மருந்துகளின் பெயர்கள்- தாமிர செந்தூரம், லவண செந்தூரம், அயகாந்த செந்தூரம், கோதம்பு லேகியம், வில்வாதி லேகியம், கூழ்பாண்ட ரசாயணம், பட்டைரசாயணம், துருசு பற்பம், லவண பற்பம், வெள்வங்க பற்பம், லோக பற்பம், தழுதாளி எண்ணெய், வாத ராட்சதன் மாத்திரை, விஷ்ணு சக்கர குளிகை, கொடுவேலி தைலம், கொம்பரக்கு தைலம், தாளிசபத்திரி சூரணம், பேதிக்கு குழம்பு, கற்பத்திற்கு நெய் ஆகும்.மேலும் இதில் தாமிர சுத்தி மற்றும் முப்பின் விபரம் பற்றியும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது
மேலும் 80 வகை வாத நோய்களின் பெயர்களும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 30,8cm x 3,2cm. It contains 70 leaves numbered in Tamil and Arab from 1 to 69. One leaf is blank.
The manuscript contains 70 palm leaves of 12 lines per leaf, with two wooden boards.
