Description
The manuscript is composed of 96 leaves belonging to numerous texts written both in verses and prose. The leaves have two different numbers : the original one in Tamil and the secondary one in Arab which was certainly inscribed by the person who composed the manuscript. It is impossible to order the leaves, and thus, the manuscript has been digitalised by keeping the same arrangement. The state of the manuscript is average as the edge of the leaves are more and less damaged by infestation of strings of insect eggs.
The reading of such a manuscript is extremely difficult. However, all the fragments of texts compiled in this manuscript deal with the formulation of medicinal products using iatrochemical processes. The medicinal formulations which have been identified are : Uppu cuṇṇam, Turucu cuṇṇam and Veṭiuppu cuṇṇam; Cāra kaṭṭu, Kalluppu kaṭṭu, Navacāra kaṭṭu, Nāka kaṭṭu, Pācāṇa kaṭṭu, Turucu kaṭṭu and Cavukāra kaṭṭu; Kānta paṟpam, Cīṉa paṟpam, Veḷḷi paṟpam, Muttu paṟpam and Pavaḷa paṟpam; Aṉṉapēti centūram; Raca kaḷaṅku; Aya cattu; Aya cempu; and Veṭiuppu ceyanīr.

இந்த சுவடியில் 96 ஓலைகள் உள்ளன, அவை பல ஓலை சுவடிகளின் தொகுப்பு ஆகும்.இது விரோதம் மற்றும் உரைநடை இரண்டு வடிவிலும் எழுதப்பட்ட நூலாகும்.இந்த சுவடியில் உள்ள ஓலைக்கு இரண்டு எண்கள் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளன, ஒன்று தமிழிலும், மற்றொன்று அரபு மொழியிலும் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.அரபு மொழியில் உள்ள எண்கள் இந்த சுவடியை இரண்டாவதாக படி எடித்த நபரால் கொடுக்க பட்டு இருக்கலாம்.ஆதலால் இந்த சுவடியை எண் படி அடுக்குவதில் சிரமம் உள்ளது, எனவே இது அப்படியே பதிவிறக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டது.இந்த சுவடி நடு நிலையில் உள்ளது, ஏனெனில் இதன் ஓலைகளின் ஓரங்கள் பூச்சியின் முட்டைகளால் பாதிக்க பட்டு உள்ளது.இதை படிப்பதும் மிகவும் சிரமமாக உள்ளது.எனினும் இதில் உள்ள அணைத்து பாகமும் மருந்து செய்முறைகளை பற்றியே விளக்குகின்றன.இந்நூலில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள மருந்துகளின் பெயர்கள் : உப்பு சுண்ணம், துருசு சுண்ணம், வெடிஉப்பு சுண்ணம், சார கட்டு, கல்லுப்பு கட்டு, நவாசார கட்டு, நாக கட்டு, பாசாண கட்டு, துருசு கட்டு, சவுக்கார கட்டு, காந்த பற்பம், சீன பற்பம், வெள்ளி பற்பம், முத்து பற்பம், பவள பற்பம், அன்னபேதி செந்தூரம், ரச களங்கு, அய சத்து, அய செம்பு மற்றும் வெடிஉப்பு செயநீர் ஆகும்
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 27,4cm x 3,0cm (maximum size of leaves). The manuscript is composed of 96 leaves belonging to numerous texts written both in verses and prose. The leave have two different numbers : the original one in Tamil and the secondary one in Arab which was certainly inscribed by the person who composed the manuscript. It is impossible to order the leaves as many are numbered 1, 2, 3 etc. The manuscript has been digitalised by keeping the original arrangement before the cleaning process. The state of the manuscript is average as the edge of the leaves are more and less damaged by infestation of strings of insect eggs.
The manuscript contains 96 palm leaves of 12 to 16 lines per leaf. It has no wooden boards.

The manuscript belonged to Mohana Raj's grandfather, Vēlāyutaṉ vaittiyar (1887/1965), a siddha practitioner who was president of the association ATSVS and taught when the college was founded by the association. He paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from siddha practitioners and collected some from his peers.
