Description
The manuscript contains a text whose the palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 40. It is very darkened due to fungus infestation and many leaves are broken, but the reading of the text is not affected. The text, which is complete, contains 148 verses. Entitled Vāta Nitāṉam, it deals with vāta-related diseases whose it describes the types, clinical features and treatment. The diseases caused by vāta imbalance which are addressed are : acāttiya vātam, cāttiya vātam, araikku kīḻ vātam, mēka vātam, kapāla vātam, nēttira vātam, piṭari vātam, kaṇṭa vātam, neñcaṭai vātam, vilā vātam, kōra vātam, naṭukku vātam, piṟa vīccu vātam, pakka vātam, tanta vātam, ciṅku vātam, muyalakaṉ vātam, cantu vātam, māraṇa vātam, kumpa vātam, aṇal vātam, iḷampiḷḷai vātam, aṇaleri vātam and mukka vātam.

1 முதல் 40 வரை எண் கொண்ட 40 ஓலைகளை கொண்ட நூலாகும்.இந்நூல் பூஞ்சை காளானால் மிகவும் பாதிக்க பட்டு உள்ளது.ஆனால் படிக்கும் நிலையில் உள்ளது.முழுமையான இந்த நூல் 148 விருத்தங்களை கொண்டது.வாத நிதானம் என்ற தலைப்புடைய இந்த நூல் வாத நோய்களை வகைகள், அதன் குறிகுணங்கள் மற்றும் மருத்துவம் பற்றி கூறுகிறது.இந்நூல் வாத நோயை பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.வாத நோயின் வகைகள், நோய் குறிகுணம், மருத்துவம் பற்றி கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.இந்நூலில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள வாத நோயின் வகைகள் : அசாத்திய வாதம், சாத்திய வாதம், அரைக்கு கீழ் வாதம், மேக வாதம், கபால வாதம், நேத்திர வாதம், பிடரி வாதம், கண்ட வாதம், நெஞ்சடை வாதம், விலா வாதம், கோர வாதம், நடுக்கு வாதம், பிறவீச்சு வாதம், தனு வாதம், பக்க வாதம், தந்த வாதம், சிங்கு வாதம், முயலகன் வாதம், சந்து வாதம், மரன வாதம், கும்ப வாதம், இளம்பிள்ளை வாதம், அணல் எரி வாதம் மற்றும் முக்கு வாதமாகும்
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 27,3cm x 3,4cm. The text is numbered from 1 to 40 in Tamil and Arab. The palm leaf numbered 29 is double. The manuscript is very damaged by fugus; the leaves are very dark and many of them are broken. The reading is not affected.
The manuscript contains 41 palm leaves of 12 to 14 lines per leaf. It has no wooden boards.

The name of the writer mentioned in the manuscript is Yokannan Acan (Yōkāṉṉāṉ Ācāṉ) from the village of Kuzhikkottu. Mohana Raj acquired the manuscript, 10 years ago from Mr Vicēnti who resided in the village of Nadaikavu (Naṭaikkāvu) at 5km from Muncirai).
