Description
The manuscript is composed of a text, complete, made of 272 palm leaves on which 896 verses are written. This manuscript is in excellent condition.
The text, well preserved, is extremely informative on the description of diseases and remedies to treat them. Entitled Kuru Nāṭi and Vākaṭa Cāstiram, it describes numerous diseases and provides details on their curability. It lists the diverse diseases which may affect women during pregnancy and may occur during the life time from the birth to death. It describes postnatal convulsions (piracavattiṟku piṉ varum icivu) and delirium (caṉṉi). It explains the diverse states of vāta, pitta and kapa at the time of the death and the diseases resulting of humoural imbalance which may be fatal. It presents the type of medicines to cure the diseases and provide information on their formulation. 10 types of complications (avattai) of disease might cause death are clearly explained in this text.
Lastly, the text compares the medicinal values of milk coming from cow, buffalo and goat.

இந்த சுவடியில் முழுமையான நூல் ஒன்று உள்ளது.அதில் 272 ஒலைகளில் 896 விருத்தங்கள் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.இது மிகவும் நல்ல நிலையில் உள்ள சுவடியாகும்.
நல்ல நிலையிலுள்ள இந்நூல் பல்வேறு நோய்கள் மற்றும் அதற்கான மருத்துவம் பற்றி விரிவாக கூறுகிறது.பல்வேறு நோய்களை விளக்கி அதற்கான மருத்துவத்தையும் கூறுகிறது.கருவுற்ற பெண்ணுக்கு வரும் நோய்கள், பிறப்பு முதல் இறப்பு வரை வரும் நோய்கள் பற்றியும் விளக்குகிறது.பிரசவத்திற்கு பின் வரும் இசிவு, சன்னி பற்றி கூறுகிறது.மனிதன் இறக்கும் போது ஏற்படும் வாத- பித்த- கபத்தின் நிலை, நோய் தீர சாத்தியம், அசாத்தியம் பற்றியும் கூறுகிறது.நோய்களுக்கான மருந்துகள், அவற்றை செய்யும் முறைகள், பத்து விதமான அவத்தை, உயிர் நீங்கும் தருணம் ஆகியவை இந்நூலில் நன்கு விளக்க பட்டுள்ளது.
கடைசியாக பசும்பால், எருமைப்பால், ஆட்டுபால் போன்றவற்றின் மருத்துவ குணத்தை பற்றியும் கூறுகிறது
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 37.0cm x 3.2cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 272. There is a blank leaf placed at the beginning and at the end of the text and a leaf indicating the title. The manuscript is in excellent condition.
The manuscript contains 277 palm leaves of 14-16 lines per leaf, with two wooden board.

The manuscript belongs to Mr S.P. Anandan who resides at Madurai. He collected it during his project aiming to document siddha practitioners. This manuscript belonged to A. Palanisamy, a Registered Indian Medicine Practitioner from the village of Thevaram (Tēni district).
