Copied from a MS belonging to Shanmukhasundara Bhattar of Madurai. The work is a collection of pūjāpaddhati-s as used in prayoga. Before the text there are two extra pages, which include a page of contents and a page giving a note written by the scribe, which reads: " śaivapūjāpaddhati
                                            The palm leaf manuscript " śaivapūjāpaddhati " belongs to śriṣaṇmukhasundara Bhattar of Madurai.Written leafs number 72 in the manuscript. The rest are blank ones. The script is grantha. In a few leaves at the end, some explanations are given in the Tamil script. There are from six to eight lines per page. The handwriting is normal. The transcript copy covers 246 pages. The work is in the form of a collection of pūjāvidhis as used in prayogas. Pūjāvidhis in respect of śaiva and Devī are dealt with here in detail. Everything is treated in a good, systematic and complete manner. Towards the end, a collection of lakṣaṇas of bāṇa and other liṅga-s, taken from different sources, has been added. There are about 1200 granthas. P. Neelakanta Sarma, 10/01/1961 ". The same page record brief note written in a different handwriting reads: " The owner of this MS a gurukal of Madurai temple told that the pūjā performed at Madurai Temple is the same as found in this MS. and that this was copied by one of his ancestors
