Copied from a MS from Satyapriyatīrtha Cat. No. 660 belonging to K. T. Pandurangi, Bangalore. There is an extra page in the beginning which records the title and a note which reads: " copied from a paper manuscript mahābhāṣyavivaraṇam of satyapriyatīrtha cat. No. 660 belonging to K. T. Pāndurangi 132/4, III Block, Gayanagaram, Bangalore. The script is Devanāgarī.

Page - 1, l - 1; śrīrāma vedavyāsāya namaḥ। śrīrastu nirvighnam astu॥ hariḥ oṃ॥ saṃnamya jānakījāniṃ gurūṇāṃ ca padāmbuje। taṃtanīti mahābhāṣya vyākhyāṃ satyapriyo muniḥ॥ oṃ vṛddhirādaic। ādaicchabdasya laukikatvāt atha śabdānuśāsanam ityatra laukikānāṃ vaidikānāṃ ca anuśāsanīyatvamiti bhāṣye'bhidhānāt coḥ kuriti kutvaṃ syāt। na ca loke vidito hi laukikaḥ॥
