The Tāmraparṇīmāhātmya is said to form part of the śivapurāṇa (uparobhāga). It is not found in the printed text of the śivapurāṇa (pandita pustakālaya, Benares). Tāmraparṇī is an important river in the Tirunelveli Dt. and many śiva and viṣṇu shrines like śrīvaikuṇṭha, Mantreśvara and others are situated on her banks. This Ms. is incomplete ; it contains the first seven chapters (vide: GOML. D.2430 and NCC.VIII p. 151)
