This text contians the direction to follow during the saṅkocakrama, a preliminary rite to kumbhābhiṣeka in which the all-pervading power of the [chief] deity of a temple is supposed to be drawn into a holy pitcher by doing necessary religious activities like chanting mantra-s etc. This text is a part of the work called aṣṭabandhanapaddhati. This text may be used in the temple (at Tirunelveli), the presiding god and goddess of which are somanātheśvara and gomatīnāyakī respectively
