Miscellaneous Notes
The skandapurāṇa consists of 6 saṃhitā-s. saṃkarasaṃhitā is one of them. This saṃhitā also cosists of 6 kāṇḍa-s and dakṣakāṇḍa is the 5th kāṇḍa. The Ms. contains this dakṣiṇākāṇda which is of 40 chapters and upadeśakāṇḍa which is of 92 chapters. The Tanjore Library Catalogue mentions that the former has 42 chapters and the later has 85 chapters. The fol. 64a tells that the Ms. is copied in 1022 [Kollam] prabhāva varu. dhanurmāsaṃ 7th date, bhānuvāra, uttaraṣāḍhā nakṣatra. (=1809AD)

śuklāmbaradharaṃ viṣṇuṃ śaśivarṇañ caturbhujaṃ। prasannavadanan dhyāyet sarvavighnopaśāntaye॥ oṃ ṛṣayaḥ। dakṣādhvaras tayā proktaḥ purā sūta tapodhana। jayā[a] ntāyendraputrāya samāsena bṛhaspatiḥ। proktavaniti taṃ bhuyo vistarād vaktum arhasi ॥
