Miscellaneous Notes

This text, in praise of goddess Atulā, contains eight śloka-s, preceding the stotra and containing prayers to vināyaka, sarasvati and kumāra. Each śloka ends with the refrain: "avinnavaneśvarasya mahiṣī sāmbātulā pātu mām". The word, āvinnavaneśvara, occuring in the second śloka (end) cited above, refers to śiva enshrined in Tiruvāvinaṅkuḍi at the foot of the palani hills.After this there are two verses in praise of śiva
