This text is treated as the 105th upaniṣad attached to the atharvaveda. It is of three parts (khaṇḍa). Fols. 27a-29b contain the first part called pūrvatāpinī. The second part is contained in fol.30. The third part (fol. 31) is called uttaratāpanīya. The second part is contained in fol. 30. The third part (fol. 31) is called uttaratāpanīya. 108 upaniṣads (NS. 1932, pp. 541-543) has parts 1 and 2 considered as forming part of the 1st kāṇḍa and the remaining as the second khaṇḍa. The Adyar Library edn. of the vaiṣṇava upaniṣads contains this upaniṣat in 3 parts (pp. 159-163) called khaṇḍa-s but the names pūrvatāpini and uttaratāpinī do not occur in this edition
