Yogajāgama

Copied from a MS belonging to J. Visvanatha Sivacharya of Melamankalam, Madurai Dt. There are 17 extra pages in the beginning the first ten of which record the contents of the text and the eleventh page records the notes of the text. There are some xerox copies of contents and notes and some other contents pages. The note reads: " yogajāgamādi: collections from yogaja and other āgamas. The palm-leaf manuscript belongs to śrī P. Viśvanātha śivācārya, Melamangalam, Madurai Dt. The manuscript contains 222 palm-leafs numbered separately as 1 to 176 and 1 to 46. This has a measurement of 40 cm in length and 3 cm. in breadth. There are on an average eight lines per page. The writing is fair though the letters are small. The transcript copy covers 1014 pages. There are about 5000 granthas in all. Yogajāgama occupies the beginning part of the manuscript. There are eighteen paṭalas of the above āgama beginning with mantroddhāra and ending with bālasthāpana. In two places at the ends of paṭalas, occurs the wording as vedāraṇya yogaje. In the middle portion, miscellaneous matters connected with śaivāgama and some other saṃhitās, take the place.
