Miscellaneous Notes
The śivajñānottara is mentioned as an upāgama in the introduction of the edition of its vidyāpāda. However the mūlāgama, to which it belongs is not mentioned there. The sarvajñānottara, which is in the form of a discourse delivered by śiva to ṣaṇmukha (skanda), contains all the four pāda-s. There are respectively one, seven and twenty-five chapters in the yoga-, vidyā- and kriyāpāda (see IFI.T. 334, T. 760). For the caryāpāda, see GOML.D. 5550 (where it is called "uttarapāda). Apart from the Ms. under notice, parts of the sarvajñānottara are found in IFI.T. 496, RE. 10871, Adyar Alph. List. pp. 140, etc..... The Ms. contains the 2nd chapter of the vidyāpāda which presents the instructions given by śiva to skanda on the means of intuiting one's own self. As a preliminary step, 3 entities, ātman, śiva and paramātman are mentioned for meditation and the aspirant will realise that all these are one and the same. This Ms. contains 63 śloka-s, while IFI.T. no. 760 and 334 have two more śloka-s at the ed. 4 śloka-s (as dhyāna) on śiva and manonmanī
